On Friday, May 29th, ACo designers Mia Farrell and Dani Kohl sat down with Jordan Morrissey, Designer & Owner of Jordan Morrissey Interior Design Co., to discuss why ACo & Interior Designers like to collaborate with one another, recent projects ACo and Jordan Morrissey Interior Design Co. are working on together, and the latest trends in laundry rooms.
Interior Designers have clear visions of how to personalize each client’s home to accommodate their lifestyle. ACo has the tools to bring that vision to life. The combination of these two together is seamless. Jordan Morrissey loves bringing her clients to ACo because ACo is a one-stop shop. ACo offers everything from materials like cabinetry, countertops, and flooring, to computer drawings and renderings to visualize the designs, and even installation crews to turn those renderings into real-life spaces. The collaboration between these two companies alleviates the stresses that go along with any home project.
Cosmetic updates to full remodels, ACo and Jordan Morrissey Interior Design Co. do it all. Dani and Jordan discussed a face-lift they recently gave a kitchen, in which the cabinetry remained, while new flooring, countertops, backsplash tile, & light fixtures were selected and installed to give the room a nice update.
They also discussed a laundry room they designed together that is now under construction (stay tuned for photos!) In this laundry room, a bold wall tile was chosen to give the space a fun focal point and distinctive look.
All three designers agree that laundry rooms today are now being accepted as important rooms in the house. Laundry rooms are being designed for much more than just a spot to clean and fold clothes. They are also being used as work stations for mom’s (complete with a mom desk), craft rooms and mud rooms (keeping the mess contained and out of the way), and even doggy zones (not just for a kennel, pet showers are becoming a high priority too).
With laundry rooms being used for so many other purposes, homeowners are having a little more fun when it comes to the design of the space. Dramatic wallpaper and tiles or pops of color are being used to help add a bit of excitement to the room and the time spent working in there a little more enjoyable.
