Each new year brings new trends in the world of home interiors. And as always, there are some trends that fizzle out in a few years and some that will look great for years to come. What do we think will stand the test of time in 2015 and beyond? Here are some of my favorite choices in wood, carpet, and tile.
In hardwood floors, we like choices that blend rustic and contemporary styles. This Antica flooring from Provenza does just that. They have a rustic handmade look that is perfect for a country cabin, but they would also fit in perfectly in a contemporary loft. I think this blend of styles will be big in the New Year.
As I’ve mentioned before, carpet styles these days go way beyond basic beige. This hexagonal print from Kane Carpets is a great example. This pattern is bold and eye-catching, but the color combination is neutral so it will work in a variety of rooms. Expect to see more prints like this in the year to come.
There are lots of great tile choices out there, but the reason I love this ceramic tile is its versatility. The sugar white color from Emil looks great with the gray palette that is popular is so many homes right now, and the tile is available in three different sizes. That means your options for creating a lovely pattern are endless!
