Health and Sanitation Policy and Guidelines

As COVID-19 has now become a global pandemic, we want to communicate the importance of maintaining healthy practices for our workers, customers, and jobsites.

We are encouraging the use of telephone and video conferencing instead of face-to-face meetings as much as possible during this outbreak. When video conferencing is not an option, meetings should be held in open, well-ventilated spaces. Gatherings of 10 or more should be postponed, and we adhere to social distancing requirements (6-feet minimum). We will continue to comply with safety and health standards established and enforced by IOSHA.

Best practices:

• Health Screening Process: If you are in the showroom or at a jobsite you should be fever free (touchless thermometer available at showroom), and not exhibiting respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath.
• Stay home if you are sick or showing any symptoms. Do not return until fever free for 72 hours, and at least 7 days since symptoms first appear.
• Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces. i.e. tables, desks, light switches, doorknobs, countertops, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks, etc. These tasks should be completed daily or more frequently at both jobsites and the ACo Showroom.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.
• If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Put a distance (6 feet recommended) between yourself and others.
• Stop handshaking.
• Wear a clean face mask in public, in the showroom, and on jobsites.
• Use videoconferencing and other technology when appropriate.

We are implementing sanitation stations at each jobsite. This will include:

• Antibacterial soap
• Hand sanitizer (if available)
• Cleaning supplies and wipes
• Rubber gloves
• Shoe covers

In the meantime, all trades, partnered installers, and ACo employees will be asked to use these products when entering a jobsite and fill out the onsite daily sanitation log.  All remodel jobs will have a mandatory sign posted at all times.

Project Management:

Please communicate and ensure your onsite crews know our company’s policy for COVID-19 prevention and that they have implemented good hygiene practices while working on any ACo project.

Please clean and disinfect frequently touched jobsite surfaces. i.e. counters, light switches, doorknobs, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc. every day or jobsite visit. If your jobsite is missing sanitation items, please replenish immediately.

Every employer is currently going through the same or similar situation – all while trying to maintain continuity of business operations and how best to care for their workers as well as customers.
