The Simple Elegance of Transitional Style: Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry, and Powder Room Update
The housing market, both new construction and existing homes, is absolutely booming these days. With new construction, you may be on a waiting list for months before construction even begins. Meanwhile, existing homes that have been nicely updated are snapped up within days or even hours. For those ready to make a move, the next solution is to buy a house that fits their basic criteria of size and location, then update it so they can love where they live.
Purchasing a new home with the intention of remodeling right away may seem like a daunting task. However, with the help of ACo and design & sales consultant Dani, these homeowners were ready for the challenge. Relocating from another state threw an extra hurdle in the way, but the end result was worth all the extra effort.
The kitchen in this home was a great size with a nice footprint, but the materials were outdated, the appliances were inefficient, and the bulky oddly shaped island was in the way. For an active family, it was important to have a streamlined kitchen, but still maintain plenty of storage, counter space, and the large island for gathering.
The kitchen, butler’s pantry, and powder room were stripped of their outdated finishes. Creating a transitional style by combining warm, cozy traditional elements like the custom hood, with modern sleek lines brings a simple elegance to all three spaces.
