When well done, white kitchen cabinets can be a showstopper, but without a thoughtful design they can also be a little lackluster. For a Michigan transplant, her new Westfield kitchen never quite fit her style and she wanted to give it more personality.
Working with ACo Designer Mia Farrell, this homeowner wanted to bring some of the details and personal touches to her new home that made her former home in Michigan so special. As an artist herself, details are incredibly important to how a space makes her feel. With that in mind, she wanted to focus on making a statement with the rangehood and adding more visual interest to the space.
The crisp white cabinets of the kitchen stand out next to the charcoal island and fridge cabinet. The updated design gives character to the island with the addition of gold and green veining in Cambria’s Ivybridge for the countertop. Meanwhile, the custom Stoll statement hood is just that – a STATEMENT! The details elevate the look of stainless steel throughout the kitchen giving it a modern feel. Finally, the marble mosaic backsplash tile brings a soft beauty to the kitchen. There is just enough interest in the shades, size, and layout of the tile to add dimension without distraction.
The result is a modern update to a classic kitchen. The design celebrates simplicity without being boring and finds character in the details without going over the top.
