Bold Countertops and Stunning Tile Modernize Geist Kitchen and Bath
Buying a new (to you) home often comes with some compromises. When a growing family purchased this Fishers home, they knew it would need a lot of updates to better suit their needs and lifestyle. In particular, the kitchen was not just outdated, but also a small and awkward space that just didn’t work for their busy family. The traditional-style master bathroom was another sore spot that needed some big improvement.
Feeling up to the challenge, but knowing they needed some extra help, these homeowners worked with ACo Designer Carlie Suski to bring bold, modern style into their home.
The kitchen layout was a serious challenge. By removing the wall separating it from the living room, they were able to add a much larger island featuring countertops with striking dark veining. Expanding in the other direction, a walk-in pantry offers even more space as functions as a mini second kitchen. Oak base cabinets with a charcoal stain and black glaze contrast with sharp white upper cabinets and backsplash. The look is softened with gold hardware and floating wood shelves.
In the bathroom, the homeowners went bold and gorgeous with stunning green tile across the entire back wall. In the shower panoramic tiles with dark grey and black veining were laid vertically emphasizing the height and spaciousness of the space. The space is finished with 24×48 black floor tiles, modern frameless cabinets in a warm hue, and sleek black hardware and accents.
