The ACo Way is All About You
The first floor of the Adkins home was filled with standard finishes, and they were looking to create a more personal aesthetic. Working with interior designer Tina Dahl of CMD Designs and Joe Evans of ACo, the Adkins have transformed their first floor into a grand yet welcoming celebration of their family heritages.
Venturing into this home from the new front door, through the foyer with polished “tile rug”, into the living room featuring a refreshed fireplace with a hand-hewn wood beam mantle from Iron Timbers which then flows into the newly remodeled kitchen, features and details that tell a story abound.
Handwoven rugs and stair runners from Leila Adkins father, as well several family heirlooms throughout the home, highlight her Persian ancestry. In the kitchen, hand-painted tiles from the couple’s trip to Iran were incorporated in the backsplash adding visual contrast to the new semi-custom cabinetry, oversized island, and Cambria countertops. A custom bourbon bar off the foyer honors homeowner Mark’s Kentucky roots. New warm, engineered hardwood floors throughout the first floor connect the spaces with a natural open, flow.
The collaboration between homeowners, interior designer, and ACo took this first floor from closed off, compartmentalized, and ordinary to an open and welcoming floor plan that showcases both homeowners’ heritage in an exceptional way.
