Living in a home for more than 20 years can give you mixed emotions when it comes time to remodel. You may be ready for a change but hesitate when you think of all the memories those walls have seen. However, life moves ever forward and changing things up, especially with a kitchen remodel, can be the beginning of something great.
For these homeowners, their kitchen had seen them through raising their children, but not without frustrations. The layout lacked efficiency and was short on both storage and countertop space. Not to mention it was outdated, dark, and hard to clean.
ACo Designer Dani Kohl envisioned a brighter kitchen that incorporated accents of brilliant blue, the homeowner’s favorite color. The classic white cabinets, paired with modern chrome hardware and a striking blue island with shiplap detail, create the perfect transitional style to blend with the rest of the home. Another fun detail is the modern geometric blue and grey hexagon tile that brings an unexpected element of fun to the rest of the white tile backsplash.
Rearranging the space and appliances, including moving the cooktop from the island to the perimeter, provides a better workflow for daily kitchen tasks. This also freed up the island for entertaining family and friends. And by including durable, easy to clean LVP floors, this kitchen is ready to host the next generation in a beautiful space perfect for creating years of memories.
